RD One Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon from RD1 Spirits, bottled at 49% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled, aged and bottled in Lexington, and it spends at least four years in new charred American oak. The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% barley.
It is the bourbon on which RD1's wood-finished range is built, bottled straight rather than finished. RD1 was founded in Lexington in 2020 and takes its name from the city's first federally registered distillery, established in 1865. Four-plank horse farm fencing is etched around the base of the bottle.
The rye brings baking spice and pepper up front, with caramel and vanilla sweetness behind and a warm, lingering finish.
