Redbreast 18 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey bottled at 46%. It is the first permanent addition to the Redbreast family in four years, and it brings cream sherry casks into the usual mix.
The whiskey is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and in casks seasoned with oloroso sherry, cream sherry and ruby port. The cream sherry casks come from the Antonio Páez Lobato cooperage.
The nose offers blackcurrant, raspberry, sugar-glazed cherry and dried fig, with hazelnut chocolate, toasted almonds, cinnamon and worn leather. The palate is full-bodied, with ginger, liquorice, dried fruit and orange peel. The finish is rich and lasting.
