Rocket Top is a bottled in bond straight rye whiskey from Redwood Empire, made grain-to-glass in Sonoma County, California. This is the 2025 release, Batch 005, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and non-chill filtered.
The rye was distilled in spring 2019 and takes its name from one of the tallest trees in the Redwood Empire. It is supplied in a cylindrical tube decorated with forest imagery.
The nose combines herbal rye spice, fresh mint, toasted cedar and honeycomb. The palate is bold and peppery, with dark chocolate, clove and candied citrus. The finish is long and warming, with spice and hints of charred oak.
