Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX is a straight bourbon whiskey from G. Remus, bottled at 52% ABV (104 proof). It is an annual release, produced at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
The whiskey is a blend of aged bourbons, drawing on several high-rye mash bills. The bottle design is inspired by Art Deco and the 1920s, in keeping with the repeal era that inspired the Remus brand.
The nose has vanilla bean, caramel, oak spice, dark cherry and warm baking spices. The palate is layered, with toffee, brown sugar, cinnamon, toasted oak, dark fruit and sweet rye spice. The finish is long, with pepper, caramelised sugar, charred oak and a little leather.
