Remus Repeal Reserve Series VII Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Remus Repeal Reserve Series VII is the 2023 annual limited release from Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It is an Indiana straight bourbon at 50% ABV, blended by Master Distiller Ian Stirsman to mark the 90th anniversary of Prohibition's repeal. The blend uses two high-rye mash bills: 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley for 53% of the blend, and 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley for the other 47%. Stocks range from 9 to 16 years old, averaging about 10 years, and include 6% from 2007. The nose brings caramelised pecans, candied cherry, maple syrup, black cherry and pecan pie. The palate has caramel, cinnamon, green apple, clove and leather, with orange peel and tart dried cherry. The finish is long, with cinnamon, peppermint, vanilla and oak.
