Romana Sambuca is an Italian anise liqueur, made by distilling or infusing star anise with botanicals such as liquorice root and elderflower in a neutral spirit, then sweetening it. Star anise is the dominant character.
The nose is pronounced with star anise and liquorice, with hints of elderflower, vanilla and soft citrus. The palate is sweet and layered, with rich anise, spice, floral herbs and a smooth texture. The finish is long and rounded, with continued anise warmth.
