A Salvadoran rum from Licorera Cihuatán in El Paisnal, made from local sugar cane and molasses and matured for 12 years in American ex-bourbon oak barrels. The name refers to the red hue of cinnabar and the Mayan sun god Kinich Ahau.
Reviewers note plum, caramelised orange peel, pistachio and toasted oak on the palate. The nose offers ripe banana, nutmeg, cinnamon, toasted nuts and subtle floral touches, with a palate of tropical fruit, coconut, dark honey, roasted nuts, dried fig and vanilla oak.
