Rossville Union Master Crafted Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel Proof (75cl, 58.6%)

Rossville Union Barrel Proof is a seven-year-old straight rye from the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It is bottled uncut and non-chill filtered at barrel proof, so the strength changes from batch to batch; recent releases have run from 56.3 to 58.6% ABV. It is a limited release. The whiskey is a blend of two rye mash bills, one of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the other 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley. It is aged in new charred American oak. The nose is spicy vanilla. On the palate, wood and caramel build alongside black pepper, orange oil, dark honey, brown sugar, clove and candied ginger, ending in a long, balanced finish of oak and spice.
