First-fill Douro Valley wine barrique
A single cask Royal Brackla from the Highlands, distilled on 2 July 2012 and bottled on 3 December 2024 by Brave New Spirits. It spent twelve years in a first-fill Douro Valley wine barrique, cask 506/2012, and was bottled at cask strength, 56.8% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration. The cask gave 266 bottles for the German market, released in the Distiller's Cut series of Cask Masters. The label draws on kirigami, the Japanese art of paper cutting. Berries, figs and raisins meet malt and honey on the nose. The palate is full and rich, with dark fruit and sweetness alongside light spice. The finish is dry and spicy, with nuts and peppery notes.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
