Royal Brackla 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery known as The King's Own Whisky, a reference to its royal warrant. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in American oak and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose has sherried fruit cake, buttered malt loaf, ripe peaches and black cherries, with a touch of chocolate-covered nuts. The palate is silky, with dark berries, dried apricots, caramelised nuts and milk chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with sugared fruit, toasted almonds and lingering sherry sweetness.
