Royal Brackla 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, finished in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle without chill filtration.
The distillery stands on the Cawdor Estate near Nairn. In 1833 it became the first Scotch whisky distillery to receive a Royal Warrant, from King William IV.
The nose is dry sherry and vanilla with toasted almond, black pepper, ripe stone fruit and Christmas cake spice. The palate is juicy, with ripe peach and black cherry, then chocolate and crunchy almond. The finish is medium to long, with muscovado sugar, melted chocolate, gentle spice and a dry sherry note.
