Royal Brackla 13 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Thompson Bros. It was distilled on 7 March 2011 and bottled in March 2024 at 48.5%, in a limited run of 727 bottles.
The whisky matured in a refill butt and is bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose is fresh and spicy, led by pine needles, pepper and resin, with liquorice, a pint of Weihenstephaner wheat beer, fennel seed, curry and cereal bars. The palate brings lemon, green apple, kiwi and peppery spice, with a touch of fermenting cider. The finish is persistent, with triple sec, pastry and a light, balanced sweetness.
