Royal Brackla 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 1 litre bottle at 40% ABV. It matures in ex-bourbon oak casks and is finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The distillery was founded in 1812 and received a Royal Warrant from William IV in 1833, which is why it is known as The King's Own Whisky.
The nose is raisins, figs, candied orange and honey, with dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted almonds, cinnamon and clove. Dried fruit, toffee, cocoa, heather honey and nuts mark the palate, with spiced oak. The finish is long and warm, with chocolate, nuts, roasted coffee and spice.
