Royal Brackla 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the Royal Brackla distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The whisky matures first in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, then receives a finish in Palo Cortado sherry casks, which adds nutty notes and hints of green olive and tobacco.
The nose opens with warm spice and creamy vanilla, followed by soft, juicy fruit. The palate is soft and creamy, with vanilla sweetness, candied fruit and sweet cereal alongside cocoa and a fresh citrus note. The long finish combines sherried fruit with oak.
