Royal Brackla – 2012 9 Year Old Brave New Spirits Rebels The Guerilla Casks (70cl, 55.9%)

This is a 9-year-old Highland single malt from Royal Brackla, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 55.9%. Brave New Spirits released it in its Rebels Guerilla Casks range, which favours unusual casks over ex-bourbon or Oloroso sherry. Here the whisky was matured in a first fill wine barrique that previously held Banyuls, a sweet fortified wine from Roussillon in France. The edition is 493 bottles, without added colouring or chill filtration.
