Royal Brackla is a 12-year-old Highlands single malt, distilled on 23 April 2014 and bottled in 2026 by Bartels Whisky for its Highland Laird range. It comes from a single bourbon hogshead, number 301482, and was bottled at a cask strength of 56.2%, giving 125 bottles of 70cl. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The bourbon wood pairs the bright fruit of Royal Brackla with vanilla and a creamy caramel sweetness, with the wood showing more in the aftertaste.
The nose has ripe apple and pear, light malt and vanilla, with a hint of citrus and a floral note. The palate is creamy and sweet, with caramel, toffee and vanilla. The finish is medium to long, with wood and vanilla and a dry close.
