This is a single cask Royal Brackla from the Highlands, distilled on 2 October 2017 and bottled on 21 July 2026 at eight years old. It was finished in a Pedro Ximénez octave for Duncan Taylor's The Octave series, and 90 bottles came from the cask.
An octave is a small cask with more wood surface relative to the whisky than a larger one. This bottling is at cask strength, 53.7%, in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose has dark raisins and ripe plums with toffee, caramel and vanilla, plus baking spices. The palate brings ripe figs, strong mocha, dark chocolate and oak spice. The finish is long, with firm oak and a touch of vanilla.
