Russell's Reserve 13 Year Old Barrel Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg. It carries a 13 year age statement and is bottled at barrel proof, so the strength reflects what came from the casks. It is non chill filtered, and the label is signed by Jimmy and Eddie Russell, the distillery's master distillers.
The nose is sweet and woody, with dried cherry, plum and honey over chocolate, caramel, nougat and brown sugar. The palate is warming, with dried dark fruit, charred marshmallow and burnt brown sugar. The finish is long and rich, ending on smoky campfire notes and aged oak.
