Wild Turkey Longbranch is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon, created in 2016 by Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell with the brand's creative director, the actor Matthew McConaughey. It is made from eight year old Wild Turkey bourbon matured in new charred American oak, and bottled at 43% (86 proof).
After maturation the bourbon is filtered through American white oak charcoal and then through Texas mesquite charcoal, which adds a subtle smoky sweetness. The mash bill is 75 percent corn, 13 percent rye and 12 percent malted barley.
The nose has vanilla, caramel, pecan and gentle spice with light smoke. The palate offers vanilla, sweet corn, toffee, pear and citrus, and the finish is buttery and lightly smoky, with toasted oak and gentle pepper.
