Saltyre 12 Years Old is a Scotch single malt from the 1970s, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV.
The nose is intense and complex, with dark dried fruit, Piedmont-style cherries, vanilla toffee and toasted malt, over a delicate salty, maritime hint. The palate is creamy and round and malty, with clove and cardamom, soft caramel, ripe fruit and gentle oak. The finish is long and warm, with toffee sweetness set against a dry, woody note.
