Se Busca Mezcal Joven (75cl)

Se Busca Joven is a small-batch mezcal made from hand-harvested 100% Espadín agave at the family-run Lopez Sosa distillery in San Juan del Rio, Oaxaca. Water comes from a local mountain spring near the distillery. The agave is slow-roasted with indirect heat, using far less wood than traditional cooking, and then crushed by a tahona stone turned by horses. The aim is to let the agave flavour come through rather than the smoke. The nose is light smoke, mesquite, roasted agave, nuts, grass and caramel. The palate is fruity and green, with cooked agave, wax and nuts. The finish is full-bodied and sweet, with a mellow, spicy kick.
