Secret Speyside Caperdonich 21 Year Old Peated Small Batch Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 48%)

This is a 21 year old peated single malt Scotch whisky from Caperdonich, a Speyside distillery that has closed. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle as a small batch release in the Secret Speyside Collection. The whisky was matured in American oak casks. Caperdonich was founded in 1898, and the remaining casks are now released under the Secret Speyside label. The nose combines gentle peat smoke with orchard fruit, honey and oak sweetness. On the palate, soft smoke, vanilla and caramel sit over ripe pear and citrus. The finish is long and warming, with oak spice and a little peat.
