Shizuoka – Pot Still W Imported Barley 1st Edition (70cl, 55.5%)

Shizuoka Pot Still W Imported Barley 1st Edition is a Japanese single malt bottled at 55.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled at the Shizuoka Distillery on Honshu, in the wood-fired Forsyths copper still W, which is heated by a wood fire of up to 800°C. It is made entirely from imported barley, 70 per cent of it peated, and matured in bourbon casks. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose offers honey with cream and toasted bread, then mild peat, exotic herbs and smoked gingerbread. The palate brings fresh biscuits with caramel and roasted nuts, with peat smoke. The finish is malty and sweet, with a long trace of peat smoke.
