Single Malts of Scotland Highland 2008/2021 12 Year Old Reserve Cask Parcel 7 (70cl, 48%)

This is a 12 year old Highland single malt from the Reserve Casks series by Single Malts of Scotland, released by the independent bottler Elixir Distillers as Parcel No.7. The distillery is not named. The whisky was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 at 48%. It was vatted from three former sherry butts, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings sherry-soaked sponge, candied cherries, vanilla and dark chocolate cake, then walnut, strawberry jam and cinnamon pastry. On the palate come caramel wafers with dark chocolate sauce and fudge, a light ginger beer spice and blueberry compote. The finish holds candied ginger and ground cardamom.
