Smiths Glenlivet 1968 is a pure unblended, pot-stilled Highland malt, distilled in 1968 and bottled in June 1980 at 70 degrees proof.
The nose is soft and honeyed, with stewed apples, white peaches, apricot, sultanas and polished oak, plus a light sherry-cask influence and floral hints of hawthorn and chamomile. The palate is silky, with poached pears, lemon curd, barley sugar, dates and almond paste, and delicate oak spice. The finish is long, with honeyed malt, citrus oils, dried fruits and a gentle tannic grip.
