Smoke Wagon – Uncut Unfiltered Straight Bourbon Batch #197b (75cl, 57.9%)

A Nevada straight bourbon from Smoke Wagon, bottled unfiltered at 57.9% ABV in a 75cl bottle with no water added. This is batch 197b. It is blended from several vintages of a high rye mash bill. Older bourbon gives the oak flavours and a creamy mouthfeel, while younger bourbon adds delicate fruit and caramel and cuts back the tannins. The nose is caramel, rye grain, gentle cinnamon, orange rind and ginger, with summer fruit and sweet oak. The palate brings caramel, raspberry, chocolate covered cherries, leather and rich oak, then apple pie, rye spice and walnut over a buttery mouthfeel.
