Smokeye Hill Barrel Proof is a straight bourbon from Colorado, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 65.7% abv, in a 75cl bottle. The mash combines blue corn, yellow corn, rye and malted barley, with the blue corn adding a floral richness.
It was aged for more than 5 years in new American white oak barrels of 30 and 53 gallons. The spirit was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then barrelled, aged and bottled in Colorado Springs.
The nose offers creme brulee, vanilla, tobacco, leather and dark wood. The palate has vanilla, caramelised brown sugar, honey nougat and oak, and the finish is long, with vanilla, caramel and honey.
