Smokeye Hill Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 46.5%)

This is a straight bourbon from Smokeye Hill in Colorado, bottled at 46.5% ABV (93 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is made from a four-grain mashbill of blue corn, yellow corn, rye and malted barley, with the heirloom blue corn adding a floral richness. The whiskey was aged for five years or more in new American white oak barrels of 30 and 53 gallons. The mashbill is distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then barrelled, aged and bottled in Colorado Springs. The nose has caramelised brown sugar, vanilla, tobacco and oak. The palate shows vanilla, caramel and honeysuckle with hints of dark fruit, cacao and spice. The finish is long, with vanilla and nougat.
