Smoking Furnace Blended Scotch Whisky Batch 2 (70cl, 46%)

Smoking Furnace Batch 2 is a blended Scotch whisky from Claxton's, combining heavily peated malt whisky with grain whisky. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. After blending, the whisky spent twelve months finishing in STR casks, made by shaving, toasting and heavily re-charring the oak. The reactivated casks add a sweeter side to the strong peat smoke. Honey and vanilla sit beside intense peat smoke on the nose. The palate is earthy, with leather and spicy cinnamon under constant smoke. The finish is long, smoky and sweet, with fine fruit accents.
