Smooth Ambler Contradiction Bourbon (75cl, 46%)

Contradiction is a blended bourbon from Smooth Ambler, bottled at 46% ABV in Maxwelton, West Virginia. It combines straight bourbons from three states: the distillery's own wheated bourbon, a sourced high-rye bourbon from Indiana and a sourced bourbon from Tennessee. Together they make a four-grain whiskey of corn, wheat, rye and malted barley. The idea is for wheat sweetness and rye spice to balance each other. In tasting notes it is described with dried fruit and butter rum, and a nose of oak, dried cherries, vanilla and cinnamon. The palate brings wheat sweetness, rye spice and leather, followed by a smooth, viscous finish.
