Smooth Ambler Contradiction Rye (75cl, 52.5%)

Smooth Ambler Contradiction Rye is a blended rye whiskey at 52.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines four rye mashbills from three states, deliberately leaving out Kentucky whiskey. Two Tennessee ryes (51% and 70% rye) are blended with a 95% rye from MGP in Indiana and the distillery's own 88% rye, distilled in Maxwelton, West Virginia. Both column and pot distillation are represented. The nose is spicy, with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice over stewed apple and pine resin. The palate is creamy, with rye spice, mint, orange zest, toasted coconut and vanilla. The finish is long, with toasted oak, cinnamon, leather and green peppercorn.
