Southern Star – Double Rye Whiskey

Southern Star Double Rye is an American rye whiskey made from a mash bill with an exceptionally high proportion of rye grain. The aim is a pronounced, spicy rye character, and it is suited to cocktails such as the Manhattan, Old Fashioned and Sazerac as well as to sipping neat or over ice. The colour is deep amber with golden highlights. The nose is rye spice and pepper, and the palate is full-bodied, with black pepper, cinnamon and clove alongside vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, plus hints of dried fruit and mint. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice.
