This is a 12 year old peated whisky from Spey, the Speyside Distillery's range, bottled at 46%. Its colour is white gold.
The nose opens with white fruit, blooming rose, acacia and fresh vanilla, followed by light oak, beeswax and warmer allspice. On the palate the spices come first, then juicy fruit and roasted nuts, with light smoke adding to the picture.
The finish is well balanced: the fruit turns dried and the smoke takes a larger role.
