This is a 10-year-old Speyside single malt from Speyburn, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. The distillery stands in the village of Rothes and was founded in 1897 by John Hopkins. It draws its water from the Granty Burn, a small tributary of the River Spey.
The whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose has fresh oranges, red apples, warm cinnamon and a hint of malt. The palate shows toffee and butterscotch over baked apple, with soft vanilla and gentle spice. The finish is long, sweet and creamy.
