Speyburn 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration. The distillery was founded in 1897 in Rothes and draws its water from the Granty Burn, a tributary of the River Spey.
The whisky spent 15 years in a mix of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak ex-sherry casks.
The nose is aromatic, with dark chocolate, vanilla and orange zest over honeyed malt and toasted nuts. The palate is full and rounded, with rich toffee, dried fruit and gentle spice, lifted by fresh citrus. The finish is long and slightly warming, with oak, fruit and cocoa.
