This is a 30 year old single malt from Speyside Distillery, distilled in 1991 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Xtra Old Particular range. It is a single cask bottling from a refill hogshead, at 51.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Speyside Distillery began producing spirit on Christmas Day 1990, so this is from an early vintage of the distillery. The nose combines fudge, grist and lemon with wooden fruit boxes, and a gently smoked tobacco note comes late. The palate is silky and at first muted, then spices emerge among subtle oak and dry, earthy tones, with brown sugar, barley and roasted coffee. The finish is rich.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
