This is a 29 year old single malt from Speyside Distillery, selected and bottled by Thompson Bros. It was distilled on 21 November 1995 and bottled in November 2024 at 51.7%, in an edition of 488 bottles.
The whisky matured in a second-fill sherry cask, which shows in its fruit cake and cranberry character.
The nose brings plum, wild strawberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, tomato leaf, umeshu and maple wood. On the palate are cranberries, fruit cake, candied strawberries, pink grapefruit and an earthy, woody depth, with mushrooms aged in brown miso. The finish is long and warm, with sherry spice.
