Springbank 10 Year Old is the core expression of the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown. It is a single malt matured in a combination of 60% bourbon casks and 40% sherry casks. At Springbank everything from malting the barley to bottling is done in-house.
The nose opens with citrus, green apple and pear, with vanilla, honey and light smoke, then sea salt, wet stones and a hint of peat. The palate is oily, with apple, peach and citrus followed by toffee, roasted nuts and gentle smoke. The finish is long, fresh and lightly smoky, with green apple, lemon peel and a little spice.
