This is a 10 year old Springbank from Campbeltown, released in 2023 as part of the Sherry Wood Series. It is bottled at 76% ABV in a 70cl bottle, one of 10,200.
The whisky spent six years in bourbon casks, followed by four years in fresh Palo Cortado sherry casks.
The nose is led by red fruit sweetness, with strawberry jam, caramelised nuts, nougat and cranberry juice. On the palate, red fruits mingle with dried cranberries and cola sweets, alongside white pepper and orange oil. The finish is rather long, with cold coffee, caramel and a light salty, gingery edge.
