This is a 21 year old single malt from Springbank, in the 2020 release. It was matured in a mix of casks: 30% bourbon, 30% rum, 25% sherry and 15% port. The outturn was 3,300 bottles.
The nose is rich and sweet, with demerara sugar, treacle, orange rind and milk chocolate. The palate is oily and mouth-coating, with dunnage warehouse and coastal character, a light peat and oaky tannins, and is less sweet than the nose. The finish is long and rich, with dried fruit from the port and sherry casks, raisins, roasted coffee beans and a lasting note of bung cloth.
