St Bridget's Kirk Solera Batch #4 Peated Blended Malt (70cl, 48.5%)

This is a peated blended malt from Hannah Whisky Merchants, bottled at 48.5%. It blends malts from different distilleries and spirit styles, and is married, bottled and hand labelled in small batches with no artificial colouring or chill-filtration. Batch 4 comes from a solera of one ex-Fino sherry quarter cask and two ex-Oloroso quarter casks. Whisky is drawn from the last cask and the first is topped up, so it picks up deeper flavours as it moves through. By this batch, smoke and sherry sit in balance, with youthful notes well in the background. Tasters found coastal spray, crispy bacon, cinnamon stick, fig, marshmallow, ginger, chocolate cherries and lemon peel.
