Refill sherry hogshead
This is a 32 year old single malt from St. Magdalene, also known as Linlithgow, a Lowland distillery that closed in 1983. It was distilled in 1975, matured in refill sherry hogsheads and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2007 or 2008 for their Rare Old series, at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is aromatic, with green apple, honey and a hint of eucalyptus, supported by soft sherry and oak. The palate is silky, with malt extract, dried fruit and orange marmalade, plus toasted bread and creamy chocolate. The finish is long, elegant and dry, with light spice and a lasting grassy note.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
