St. Magdalene – 40 Year Old 1982/2023 Private Collection #2100 (70cl, 54.5%)

This St. Magdalene is a 40 year old Lowland single malt from the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection. It was distilled in 1982, a year before the distillery closed in 1983, and bottled in 2023 at 54.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a single cask, #2100, for four decades. The nose offers ripe citrus fruit and light apple with honey, herbs, vanilla and fine old oak. The palate is creamy and complex, with yellow fruit, caramel, spice, herbs and a dry, woody structure. The finish is very long and elegant, with fruit, herbs, spice and oak.
