Stagg Batch 24A is the Summer 2024 release of Buffalo Trace's barrel proof bourbon, made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is bottled at 127.6 proof (63.8%) in a 750ml bottle, uncut and without filtration.
The bourbon uses Buffalo Trace's low rye Mash Bill #1 and spends roughly eight to nine years in heavily charred new American oak. The name honours George T. Stagg.
The nose is rich, with dark caramel, brown sugar and dark cherry over toasted oak, vanilla and baking spice. The palate is thick and mouthcoating, with sweet chocolate and brown sugar against bold rye spice, molasses, leather and cinnamon. The finish is long, with cherries, cloves and a wisp of smoke.
