Stagg Jr. Batch 15 is the Fall 2020 release of Buffalo Trace's barrel proof bourbon, made at the distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 131.1 proof (65.55% ABV) in a 75cl bottle.
The bourbon is made from Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1, a low rye recipe, and spent around eight to nine years in heavily charred new American oak.
The colour is deep mahogany. The nose offers dark caramel, brown sugar and black cherry over charred oak, pipe tobacco and baking spice. The palate is dense and oily, with sweet chocolate, brown sugar, bold rye spice, molasses, leather and cracked pepper. The finish lingers with cherries, cloves and a little smoke.
