A 1970s bottling of Stewarts Dundee De Luxe, a Scotch whisky from Stewart & Son of Dundee, bottled at 37.5% (75 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The nose is sweet, with heather honey, toffee, gingerbread and pecans, then banana bread, apple, pear and a classic sherry background. The palate is full-bodied, oily and creamy, with marzipan, honeyed tea, dark chocolate, rum-soaked raisins and young oak spice. Old-bottle character, such as damp tobacco or leather, may appear. The finish is medium to long, with aged sherry sweetness, almonds, green tea and a hint of citrus.
