Stone Imperial Whiskey Cask Strength is an American whiskey bottled at 63.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It comes from a collaboration between Stone Brewing of Escondido, California and Foundry Distilling Co. of Iowa.
Foundry distilled the wort of Stone Imperial Stout, the liquid from the first stage of brewing, and aged it for 30 months in 30-gallon charred American oak barrels. It was Foundry's first whiskey made from an Imperial Stout.
The nose is burnt sugar and espresso with vanilla and cedar. The palate brings milk chocolate and hazelnut over dark chocolate, coffee and cream, layered with oak. The finish is long and warming, with oak and stone fruit.
