It is one of 181 bottles, and carries the name Birch Sap Carpenter. Strathisla began as the brewery of a local monastery, turned to whisky in 1786, and is described as the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland. The nose has fried plantain, birch sap, cotton candy and lemon, then damp stone walls and honey on toasted oak. The palate shows bananas flambéed in rum with mace, sugar cane and cherry wood shavings. The finish is long, with amber ale.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
