A 65 year old Strathisla from Speyside, distilled in 1953 and bottled in 2019 at 43.5% in the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection. It comes from a single first-fill sherry cask, number 1613, which filled 143 bottles. Strathisla is the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland, and began making whisky in 1786. The nose is described as dried fruit and rich sherry with wood polish, orange oil, baking spices and a subtle menthol edge. The palate shows autumnal berries, crystallised ginger and dark chocolate, and the finish is a balanced mix of fruit and oak with a humidor edge.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
