Stronachie 10 Years Sherry Cask

Stronachie 10 Years Sherry Cask is a limited single malt Scotch from the Stronachie range by A.D. Rattray. It was matured for ten years and then finished in casks that previously held sherry. The Stronachie name belongs to a Highland distillery founded in the late 1890s, which last distilled in 1928. Tim Morrison, the present owner of A.D. Rattray, revived the brand in memory of the link between the company's founder, Andrew Dewar, and Stronachie. The label is modelled on the original. The nose brings strong red wine, mince pie crust and a little floral malt. The palate is fairly meaty, with sherry sweetness keeping it in balance, and the finish carries lingering savoury notes, crumbly pastry and cinnamon.
